Magnolia Quilt

My sister was cleaning out and found this kit for a magnolia wallhanging and gave it to me to work on during the winter. When I opened it to look at the contents of the kit, I realized I had originally purchased this kit for our mother. It is a foundation paper-piecing kit using freezer paper. Obviously she was not into foundation paper-piecing so she gave it to my sister, who then gave it to me! LOL. So I decided to finish it (and I had great fun doing it), for my sister for her next birthday. And I did. The pattern was drawn out on freezer paper, and I cut the pieces apart, ironed them onto the backs of different fabrics, then pieced the sections together (using the master pattern for a guide), an had a great looking huge magnolia!

I machine-pieced the top and machine-quilted the quilt with lots of details inside the flower to make it look real.
